On a day full of political tension as Americans cast their votes, news of more corruption has once again surfaced. Russian oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev just got arrested on corruption charges.
The French news outlet Le Monde reported that Dmitry Rybolovlev was arrested in Monaco and his attorneys have issued their first statement asking for presumption of innocence while things play out. This arrest has to be directly connected to the Trump-Russia scandal, or else this is one heck of a coincidence.
This is the same man who bought a mansion from Trump for more than double what it was worth and then followed Trump all around the country during the election.
It was reported earlier this year that Democratic senator wants the Treasury Department to hand over records relating to President Donald Trump’s sale of a Palm Beach estate that he bought for $41 million to a Russian oligarch for $95 million only four years later.
“It is imperative that Congress follow the money and conduct a thorough investigation into any potential money laundering or other illicit financial dealings between the president, his associates and Russia,” wrote Senator Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat, reported ABC.
All signs suggest that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is on the verge of making his biggest move to date against in regards to the Trump-Russia investigation. Naturally, all of the other participants would be rounded up first before Trump could step in and cause a delay of some kind.
It is not far fetched to assume that Robert Mueller is working with government officials of several countries. The officials of Monaco could be bringing in Dmitry for him in relation to his part of the Trump-Russia scandal. While we don’t know his specific crimes, his close proximity to Trump could tie him to a number of crimes. We can expect more details of this to play out as Mueller wraps up his investigation in the coming weeks.
