Election Day is drawing near, but Trump is clearly not worried about that. At a time where most believe his time and energy should be used to help his party do well in the midterms, Trump has other plans.
Namely, Trump has be rather busy going after Speaker of the House Paul Ryan in public takedowns via Twitter.
It all started when Donald Trump announced that he could eliminate part of the 14 Amendment by executive order. The response to such a claim was not what he wanted considering most everyone else seemed to realize that this was not even a possibility. It’s just not how the amendment process works.
Paul Ryan pointed out that the fact that what Trump was claiming was not possible, which resulted in Trump public thrashing of Paul Ryan, the key leader of his party.
Trump tweeted “Paul Ryan should be focusing on holding the Majority rather than giving his opinions on Birthright Citizenship, something he knows nothing about! Our new Republican Majority will work on this, Closing the Immigration Loopholes and Securing our Border!”
Paul Ryan is retiring and the next Speaker of the House could very well be a Democrat. If Trump is lashing out at a Republican Speaker of the House, it will be nothing short of constant fireworks should Democrats take the midterms elections.
