Fox News isn’t a place most people would likely turn to for fact checks to correct President Donald Trump for his misleading Tweets, but that’s exactly what happened on Tuesday.
Trump seems reluctant to criticize Saudi Arabian leaders in any way in the wake of the brutal murder of American citizen and journalist Jamal Khashoggi, beating around the bush and refusing to condemn the heinous crime. That has led many to speculate that Trump has business ties with Saudis that he doesn’t want to upset.
All of that led to this Tuesday Tweet from Trump:
Anybody that follows Trump news at all immediately knew that the tweet wasn’t truthful, but the really surprising thing is that Trump’s favorite network, Fox News, fact checked the Tweet and called out Trump immediately.
