Rep. Maxine Waters (D. CA) has been a fierce and persistent critic of President Trump, even boldly withstanding death threats from his Trump followers. Waters made headlines earlier this year for encouraging Trump resisters to confront administration officials in public places.
On Monday, Waters, on air, again called for Trump’s impeachment, saying we have to “get him.” She also told viewers that she’s been talking about impeachment so frequently that some of her democratic colleagues in Congress have asked her to tone it down it down a little.
“There’s a difference in how some of our leadership talk about how we should handle all of this,” Water said. “They say, ‘Maxine, please don’t say ‘impeachment’ anymore.’”
“And when they say that, I say ‘impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment.’”, Fox News reports
In June, Waters made waves for the following statements:
“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”
“It frightened a lot of people, and of course the lying president said that I had threatened all of his constituents,” Waters said recently about those earlier comments.
Waters may get her chance to be part of impeachment proceedings depending on how the November midterm elections go. If the House and Senate both flip to Democrat control, which is a very real possibility, they will no doubt unleash a barrage of investigations and probes into the alleged corruption of the Trump administration.
