Donald Trump Jr. seems to be digging himself into a deeper hole every time he opens his mouth. If Jr. was a smart ma,n he would lay low until this Trump-Russia investigation was wrapped up. Instead, he continues to implicate himself.
This week he went on ABC’s Good Morning America and gave a bizarre interview in an attempt to defend himself and his father. Trump Jr. started off the interview respectably, but then when he was asked if he’s afraid of going to prison for his actions in the conspiracy with the Russians, he seemed to begin rambling. He said:
“I’m not because I know what I did, and I’m not worried about any of that. That doesn’t mean they won’t try to create something, I mean, we’ve seen that happen with everything.”
This wasn’t so bad, right? Well, it got worse…he kept talking.
“I’m not worried about that at all, because you know, I’ve done nothing that anyone else wouldn’t do in that position.”
So he’s not denying any crimes, but rather he’s justifying it by saying they are crimes anyone would have committed to help their father win the election, so it’s ok. Too bad that won’t hold up in court.
No one cares why you did it, if you commit a crime you are the one going to prison for it. Trump Jr. just keeps talking and implicating himself more and more. He just can’t help himself, he comes by it honestly.
The prosecution is building a great case and Trump Jr. just keeps handing them more info. If this man were smart, he would stop taking interviews and keep his mouth shut. Luckily for us, he’s going to continue putting his foot in his mouth until the very end, just like his father.
